meet the flat catz

Doug Welch

Lead Guitar and Vocals

Doug is a classically-trained violinist, but a self-taught rock & roller. A lifelong musician and a founding member of longtime Philly local band Arms Reach, over the past decade he’s played practically every iconic venue in the city, as well corner dives, block parties and street festivals. Doug picked up an acoustic guitar for the first time in college, and spent the next ten years playing his fingers to the bone. An avid deadhead, there’s no escaping the influence in his playing, both on rhythm and lead guitar.

Chuck Groholtolski

Bass Guitar and Vocals

Chuck's introduction to music began when he first picked up the guitar at the age of 16 and since then he has enjoyed writing and recording original music as both a solo artist and as a member of several bands including RCC, Bill Sturgeon, Sad Faced Willy, and now the Flat Catz. "It’s great being a flat cat. You couldn't ask for a better group of guys to hang out or play music with".

Ed Hendricks

Rhythm Guitar and Vocals

Ed is singingest, square dancingest, drinkingest, yellingest, preachingest, wakingest, talkingest, laughingest, cryingest, shootingest, fist fightingest, bleedingest, gamblingest, gun club and razor carryingest member of the band. Born into a group of traveling railroad hobos sometime in the mid 60’s, Ed was raised on the nation’s back railways from Bakersfield to Baton Rouge and supported himself by picking cotton, pockets, and guitar. As of late, Ed has laid his bindle down in Lancaster PA.

Todd Falk

Drums and Vocals

Todd has been playing music since his days in the Girly Bastards at Elizabethtown College. After school he did a stint with Sad Faced Willy where he, Chuck and Ed first honed the rhythm of the Flat Catz today. A novice drummer, he is a graphic designer turned e-marketer and works to develop brands and e-marketing solutions for manufacturers, agencies, companies and organizations around the Central Pennsylvania region.
